Project context

Fairfield Stern serves a specific audience — Japanese seniors building inheritance plans for their families. The brief required cultural attunement that other films in the slate didn't: Japanese-language considerations, cultural concepts of trust and legacy, and a tone that earns respect from an audience that has seen many advisors pass through their lives.

Your life's work deserves a partner who will protect it with sincerity and care.

From the film

Direction notes

The visual language is Japanese gardens across seasons, tea on a veranda, three generations of one family. Music is gentle koto and shakuhachi over soft strings. The voiceover is warm and respectful, paced for an older listener. The film closes in Japanese — どうぞ、お気軽にご相談ください — which is the right tonal register for the audience.

Where it lives

Fairfield Stern uses the film at the front of its web presence and in introductory materials for prospective senior clients. The 2:09 runtime is patient enough for the audience and avoids the urgency cliches that would feel disrespectful to it.
